The French defence sector does not rely solely on a handful of large groups: behind them lies a network of start-ups, SMEs and strategic subcontractors that make up the Defence Industrial and Technological Base (BITD). This is where the Bpifrance Défense fund comes in, enabling investors to invest in a diversified target portfolio of over 500 unlisted companies, mainly in the defence sector.
