Description
Planning a trip no longer necessarily starts on a search engine like Google. More and more travellers are asking an AI their question directly and coming away with a ready-made answer. 79 per cent of French people say they want to rely on AI to plan their next trips, and on Google, more than a third of tourism-related searches already result in no clicks at all. For an independent hotelier, if the AI does not mention their establishment in its response, they remain invisible, regardless of the quality of their website. This is the whole point of Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), an extension of SEO: optimising your content, your data and your online presence so that generative engines identify your hotel as the best answer.
An analysis of these new rules of visibility: what’s actually changing compared to traditional search engine optimisation, what AI systems look at when choosing an establishment, and the key strategies to implement to remain visible and attractive at a time when AI responds before Google does.
