The in vitro diagnostics and medical devices sector is facing growing competitive and economic pressures. The rise of highly price-competitive Asian players, particularly in consumables and tests, is compounded by the consolidation of clinical laboratories, which has strengthened their bargaining power and made market access more difficult for manufacturers. In this context, innovation is becoming a key driver of differentiation and competitiveness, fueled by the rise of molecular diagnostics and NGS (next-generation sequencing) in support of personalized medicine. It also relies on the development of point-of-care technologies—tests performed as close as possible to the patient—as well as the growing integration of artificial intelligence to improve accuracy, speed, and efficiency. This workshop will explore innovation and positioning strategies that enable players in the MD-IVD (medical devices and in vitro diagnostics) sector to transform these technological shifts into opportunities for sustainable growth.
