Description
In the current geopolitical and economic climate, data in the tourism sector is increasingly becoming an indispensable tool, recognised as such by all stakeholders in the sector. Consequently, public and private data ecosystems – which until recently were highly siloed – are coming together and becoming interoperable, with the aim of making data more accessible to all, as well as more effective and efficient. This scaling up and enhanced quality (along with AI capabilities) give France a key role in the forthcoming European tourism strategy, which will focus on data spaces, associated performance indicators, standardisation principles and governance.
This workshop will explore this promising fundamental shift, which is already fostering the emergence of concrete use cases involving both small and large players in the sector: regional marketing, the cornerstone of the economic model; hyper-personalisation; real-time management of travel contingencies; sustainable tourism management; and more. Inspiring case studies will provide valuable insights.
