Description

Stefano Buono, CEO of UK nuclear technology company Newcleo, is a successful nuclear physicist and entrepreneur. He co-founded Newcleo in 2021 after working for 10 years with Nobel laureate Carlo Rubbia at CERN and CRS4, where they focused on accelerator-driven systems and the transmutation of nuclear waste. In 2002, Stefano founded Advanced Accelerator Applications, which was subsequently acquired by Novartis for $3.9 billion. In addition to his role at Newcleo, Stefano is also involved as chairman of various organisations and is the founder of Elysia Capital, his own family office. He is the author of numerous scientific publications.
