Description
In an international environment marked by rising trade tensions and the resurgence of protectionist tendencies, Canada is emerging as a strategic partner for French businesses. Thanks to CETA, the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between the European Union and Canada, they have a solid framework for safeguarding their margins, mitigating risks and strengthening the resilience of their value chains.
This workshop will analyse this role as a North American anchor point and highlight the benefits of customs arbitrage strategies, particularly the use of Canadian territory as a production or finishing base. The challenge: gaining easier access to the US market whilst keeping customs duty costs under control.
This session will also highlight the importance of the country’s legal, political and economic stability for managing operations across North America. Finally, it will offer a forward-looking analysis of the synergies offered by the France-Canada axis and the opportunities for strengthened economic partnerships by 2026.
