The Asia-Pacific - or rather the Indo-Pacific - is at the centre of strategic issues between the major powers, particularly the USA and China. The situation has accelerated since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine. What are the strategic issues? What does China want? Is it possible for countries in the area to adopt a policy of balance, of neutrality? What role can France and the European Union play? Is it possible that China-USA rivalry deteriorates into military conflict, or perhaps a war by proxy?
